Why customers choose Silver Skills

Practical help, without the runaround

Small jobs can be the hardest ones to get sorted. Larger companies may not take them on, local tradespeople can be booked out, and asking around does not always lead anywhere.

Here, you can focus on local people who actually want this kind of work. Read their profiles, see what they offer and only get in touch when someone looks right for the job.

How payment works

You only pay the connection fee after acceptance

Browsing is free, and there is nothing to pay when you send a request. If the Skilled Member accepts, you pay the connection fee to open your private room.

You then agree the price, timing, materials and payment directly with the Skilled Member. Silver Skills does not collect payment for the work.

Trust and safety

A few sensible checks before you begin

You only pay the connection fee after a Skilled Member accepts your request. The fee opens your private room so you can talk and arrange the work together. It pays for the Silver Skills connection, not the work itself.

Before work starts, make sure both sides are clear on what needs to be done, when the work will happen, what the agreed price is, whether materials are included, how payment will be made, and whether the person is suitably qualified for the work requested.

Connection fee

Once the connection opens, the connection fee is generally non-refundable except where required by law or where Silver Skills chooses otherwise.

If something goes wrong

You can report platform conduct issues to Silver Skills. Reports help us review misuse and account safety, but they do not promise a refund, credit, compensation or any particular outcome.
