Silver Skills helps you find people with real practical experience, not just another name in a listings site. Many Skilled Members are retired or semi-retired people who have spent years building useful skills and still want to put them to good use.

The aim is simple: make it easier to find local help for manageable jobs, while giving experienced people a fair way to keep earning and stay active.

Connection request types

You choose the request type. They choose whether to accept.

Standard, Urgent and Priority are different ways to send a connection request. Choose the one that best matches how soon you want to discuss the job. The person you contact still reads what you send and decides whether the job sounds suitable.

A higher fee does not force a faster reply. Urgent and Priority help mark your request more clearly inside Silver Skills, but the person you contact still controls whether and when they respond.

You do not pay the Platform Connection Fee when you send the request. You only pay if your request is accepted. Paying opens messaging; it is not payment for the job, and it does not guarantee the job price, timing or outcome.

Before you pay

Clear boundaries before the connection opens

You only pay the Platform Connection Fee after a Skilled Member accepts your request. It opens the connection room so you can message each other and arrange the job directly. The fee is for the Silver Skills connection, not for the job itself.

Connection fee

Once the connection opens, the Platform Connection Fee is generally non-refundable except where required by law or where Silver Skills chooses otherwise.

If something goes wrong

You can report platform conduct issues to Silver Skills. Reports help us review misuse and account safety, but they do not promise a refund, credit, compensation or any particular outcome.
