If you are looking for help, you only pay after a Skilled Member accepts your request. If you are a Skilled Member, you pay nothing to receive requests or be listed.

Once the fee is paid, your private connection room opens. That is where you discuss the job, agree the details and arrange payment for the actual work directly with each other.

Standard connection

Most small jobs

Send a request to one Skilled Member for an ordinary small job.

If they accept, you pay the fee and the connection room opens.

Urgent connection

Time-sensitive small jobs

Mark your request as time-sensitive so it stands out when it is reviewed.

This does not force a faster reply. It is not for emergencies, safety-critical repairs or regulated work.

Priority connection

Give the request stronger prominence in the Silver Skills request process.

Priority does not guarantee a reply, acceptance, timing, price or job outcome.

How it works in practice

Payment opens the conversation, not the job itself

The Platform Connection Fee opens the Silver Skills connection room after your request is accepted. It is not a job deposit and it is not payment for the work. You agree the job price, timing, materials and payment method inside the room.

Browse public profiles first.
Choose the request type that best matches the job.
Send enough detail for the person you contact to judge whether the work suits them.
They accept or decline.
You pay the Platform Connection Fee only after acceptance.
Your connection room opens so you can agree scope, price, date and payment directly.

Choosing a tier

You choose the request type

Standard, Urgent and Priority let you show how important or time-sensitive your request feels before you send it. They help label the request clearly, but they do not control anyone's availability.

A higher tier does not force a Skilled Member to accept. They read the details and decide whether the job sounds suitable. If they decline, you do not pay the Platform Connection Fee for that request.

If they accept, you pay the fee for the request type you chose. That payment opens messaging. It is not a job deposit, it is not a quote, and it is not payment for the work.

Urgent and Priority do not guarantee a faster reply. They simply make your request more clearly marked inside Silver Skills, while the person you contact still makes their own decision.

Important boundaries

Clear, fair and not a guarantee

Paying a higher tier changes how your request is marked and handled inside Silver Skills. It does not make Silver Skills the employer, supervisor, insurer, payment handler or guarantor of the job.

Once the connection opens

I understand that once the connection is opened, the Platform Connection Fee is generally non-refundable except where required by law or where Silver Skills chooses otherwise.

Goodwill decisions

In limited situations, we may choose to issue a goodwill credit or refund. That is handled privately and is not promised as a standard outcome.
